Never Accepted Christ as Your Savior?
There have been several places in this book to prompt you to come to this page if you have never accepted Christ. If you are here for that reason, just know I have specifically been praying the Lord would lead you here. I may not know your name, or which person will need this, but I have prayed that whoever may be convicted by the Spirit of God would come here. I believe the Spirit of God is working in your life right now. With that being said I have tried to keep this as simple as possible. If you want to give your life to Christ:
First, you need to admit your sinfulness. The things we do that are opposite of God’s desires for us is called sin. Paul tells us that everyone has sinned. We are corrupted to our core from sin, and the penalty for that sin is death. But the good news is that the gift of God, instead of the penalty for sin, is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord! (Romans 3:23, 6:23) Do you admit you are a sinner?
Second, you must believe that Jesus, the son of God, was sent to earth so that we could be forgiven of our sins. If our sins really are as bad as the Bible says they are, then we must have someone to come in and pay for our sins, because the cost is much too great to pay on our own. So God sent His son to live a perfect life (the life we couldn’t live) and die on the cross (the penalty we deserved) so that we could be forgiven of our sins. (Romans 5:1, 5:8, 6:23) Do you believe Jesus died to take away your sins and give you peace with God?
Third and finally, you must confess that Jesus is Lord. As we see that we are sinners, and that Jesus died in our place so that we can be forgiven, we must also confess
that He is Lord (He is in charge, the ruler, the king) over everything. On the third day after his crucifixion Jesus rose from the grave showing that He has authority over everything, even life and death, and that includes our lives as well. To confess Him as Lord means to submit yourself to Him. To come to the realization, “now that God has saved me I will live however He wants me to live.” The Bible also describes this as “repentance,” to turn away from your sins and to turn to Christ. The apostle Paul says “. . . if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” (Romans 10:9-10). Do you believe that Jesus rose to life on the third day? Are you ready to place your trust in Him?
If you have honestly answered “yes” to the above questions, then you may be ready to place your trust in Jesus. If you don’t know where to start, consider saying a prayer like the one on the next page.
Please note: the prayer is not a magical formula for salvation, nor is simply reciting the words aloud a means to salvation. The prayer is simply an example of a genuine response to God in a genuine request to be made new.
“Dear God, I know I am a sinner and I have lived my life opposite of you. I now realize that my sin has separated me from you. There is nothing I could do to work my way back to you, but I believe you sent your perfect son Jesus to die in my place so that I may be forgiven of my sins. I believe He rose again on the third day that I may receive new life. I am sorry for the sins I have committed, and I turn away from them and now look to you. Please cleanse me of my sins and make me new. Dwell in my heart and guide my life. In Jesus name, amen.”
If you have turned your heart to Christ, I want you to first know that I, and all of Heaven, am rejoicing with you in this decision to follow Him! I also want you to know that I would love to talk with you about your decision and to equip you to navigate what's next in your new life with Christ.
Feel free to reach out to me or Brother Tony and we will set up a time to talk as soon as possible.
